NORTH MANCHESTER, IND. – Manchester University was well-represented on the 2018 all-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference indoor track and field teams, released Wednesday, Feb. 21.
Coach Brian Cashdollar team, behind a fourth-place finish at Anderson University's Kardatzke Wellness Center Feb. 17, captured the Freshman of the Year accolade. Travis Murr (Franklin, Ind.) added to an impressive first season for the Black and Gold was a member of the third-place 800-meter and fifth-place 4x400 meter relay teams for the Spartans. He was also runner-up in the 60-meter dash (7.07) and the 200-meter dash (22.67) at the championships.
Along with Murr, sophomore jumps specialist Austin Roberts (Indianapolis, Ind.) earned second-team honors for placing runner-up in the long jump; the trio of senior Harrison Hollis (Lebanon, Ind.), Austin Coughlin (Fairland, Ind.) and freshman Nick Surber (Hebron, Ind.) picked up honorable mention recognition for running on the third-place 4x200 squad; and Hollis was the team's Sportsmanship honoree.
THIRD AU VISIT ON DOCKET: With two weekends remaining on the 2018 regular season calendar, Manchester University seeks improvements on the NCAA Division III performance list Saturday, Feb. 24.
