MU closes 2012 campaign

NORTH MANCHESTER, IND. – Six different players posted shot attempts, while senior goalkeeper Grant Noakes (LaPorte, Ind.) finished with six saves in the midst of a 14-6 shots disadvantage to highlight Senior Day 2012 Saturday, Oct. 27.

Visiting Rose-Hulman, clinching a share of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference championship, posted a goal less than a minute in and then staved off a strong Spartans' effort to close the first frame. A pair of goals in the second stanza from the Fightin' Engineers ended the contest with a 3-0 final.

Noakes, playing his final match at Spartan Field along with seven other seniors, topped the defense with his save total. MU's offense had three shot on goal tries that were thwarted. Senior defender/midfielder/forward Carson McFadden (Elgin, Ill.), senior midfielder/forward Andrew Gray (Anderson, Ind.) and sophomore defender/midfielder Josh Collier (Anderson, Ind.) each took aim at Rose-Hulman's net.

Manchester University closes the 2012 season with a 5-13-1 overall and 3-5-1 HCAC record.
