DAYTON, OHIO – Junior guard/forward Silas Sims (Hope, Ind.) led the way offensively for Manchester University during an 83-33 loss at the hands of NCAA Division I opponent Wright State University Monday, Nov. 18.
Sims tallied 12 points on six-of-12 shooting from the field, grabbed three rebounds and picked up two steals for the Spartans (0-3). Freshman guard Jacob Box (Bremen, Ind.) had a strong outing, too, with six points, while sophomore forward Jarod Schrock (Logansport, Ind.) pulled down a team-high eight boards.
Wright State (2-2) scored 19 of the game's first 23 points and continued to build on the lead throughout the evening. The Raiders used an efficient offensive attack, hitting better than 53 percent from the field.
MU continues its 2013-14 season with two contests at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference – Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Challenge Thursday and Friday, Nov. 21 and 22. The Black and Gold face host Kalamazoo College at 6 p.m. Thursday and Trine University at 8 p.m. Friday inside Anderson Athletic Center on Kalamazoo's campus.
