Senior third baseman Jordan Nieman (Michigan City, Ind.) continued a strong tradition for Manchester University on the American Baseball Coaches Association's Division III All-American squads with the release of the 2015 teams May 21.
Nieman earned third team honors with the announcement at the pre-NCAA Division III College World Series banquet in Appleton, Wis. His second ABCA All-American selection is the program's 14th overall and marks nine of the last 13 years in which a Spartans' player has been recognized on the top three squads.
The senior adds the ABCA accolade to an already-impressive 2015 resume. He has also earned first team all-ABCA Mideast Region; D3Baseball.com third team all-Mideast Region; Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Most Valuable Player; and D3Baseball.com preseason All-American honorable mention honors. Overall in 2015, the senior led the HCAC in batting average (.412), on-base percentage (.500), slugging percentage (.782), total bases (129), home runs (14), triples (5), and hits (68) as part of a season in which he overtook former standout Ty Foster for the program's career home run mark by ending his collegiate career with 37 round trippers.
