Manchester University head baseball coach Rick Espeset has announced that Eric Screeton will be an assistant coach on the Spartans' staff.
Screeton, also a physical education and social studies teacher at Manchester High School, earned his Bachelor of Science degree in secondary education from MU in May 2004 and a Master's degree in education from Bluffton University of Ohio in May 2006. Before returning to Manchester University, he was head baseball coach and social studies teacher at Wawasee High School since 2012.
Screeton's collegiate coaching background includes a head coaching assignment at Goshen College (2010-12) and assistant coaching positions at Franklin College (2006-10) and Bluffton (2004-06). His experience goes beyond coaching, as he's worked at summer camps at the University of Notre Dame, University of Kentucky, and Purdue University. Screeton has also served as tournament director for the Midwest Collegiate Conference, a site director for the Wildcat Baseball Association of Fort Wayne, Ind., and been a speaker for the Central Illinois Baseball Coaches Clinic and Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association.
